Selah Pods Hotel Review: My Favorite Budget-Friendly Hotel in Pasay

Are you looking for a clean and cheap hotel in Metro Manila? I highly suggest Selah Pods Hotel in Pasay!

I have always been a fan of staycations here in Metro Manila. Already tried some luxury hotels, to mid-range, budget, and even some super epic hotel stays that I end up going home after a couple of hours after checking in. *face palm*

With the traffic of the metro, one will really want to just take a breath of fresh air in another home away from home.

I know you also wanna go a bit far from the city from time to time, but if you just wanna chill, watch Netflix, or just work in a nice place, a staycation in Metro Manila will be the best option.

In this blog, we will talk more about Selah Pods Hotel situated on the long road of FB Harrisson in Pasay City.

I can say that this is one of my favorite hotels in the metro because of its affordable and clean and cute rooms. Mama, my nephew, and my now husband loves every area in this hotel.

Selah Pods Hotel

Under the management of Zen Rooms, Selah Pods Hotel is one of the newest hotels that lies in the heart of the busy Buendia in Pasay. Located near Makati business center, Selah Pods is a good place to stay for every traveler, may it be for staycations, business, or leisure.

Selah Pods Hotel Details

  • Address: 2004-224 David St. cor PH, San Hose, F.B. Harrison St, Pasay, 1305
  • Contact Number: (02) 775 5038

Room Rates and Room Tour

Selah Pods, a low-cost hotel, is perfect for everyone who wants to stay in a budget-friendly hotel.

This room for two is equipped with one double bed, towels, toothbrush, shampoo and conditioner. I love that the bed is not so hard and the pillows are so fluffy.

I got the room for around P900 from Agoda!

Selah Pods’ Employees and Services

As previously mentioned, Selah Pods Hotel is in partnership with Zenrooms that’s why the employees are trained well by the company.

From the front office to guards, to utility, it’s very evident that Zenrooms really prioritize training and growth for its employees.

Things to Do at Selah Pods Hotel Pasay

1Dip into Selah’s rooftop swimming pool
One of the best parts of our staycation is Selah Pods’ picturesque swimming pool. It’s super beautiful in daylight but it’s much more beautiful and elegant at night because of its changing colors matching Makati’s city lights.|

2Treat your sweetheart to a romantic rooftop date night
Aside from the swimming pool, Selah Pods has a rooftop restaurant as well.

Imagine this: sweet music at the background, with the sound of waters gently splashing, under the stars and the view of Makati’s city lights… One of the most relaxing and romantic moments to remember. Go and plan your date night with your loved one!

3Bonding over Selah Pods Lounge
Isn’t it amazing when you have the time to just sit down and talk about anything under the sun? When in Selah Pods, you can stay at their environment-friendly lounge where almost everything is made of recycled materials.

4Take advantage of Selah Pods strong internet wifi connection
What I love most in a staycation is its wifi connection. While some are saying that its time for relaxation, well sure it is, but personally, I am more into online stuff like reading online blogs that’s why I am really happy if the internet is strong.

And that’s what you’ll find here at Selah Pods! Take advantage of the fast internet and go watch your favorite movies, play mobile legends or PUBG with your loved ones!

Pia’s Thoughts

Selah Pods has been one of my favorites ever since it was introduced to me. Its proximity to city centers, services, amenities, room cleanliness, and style, plus the very affordable room rate, are just some things that you will love about Selah Pods.

Whether you are celebrating life’s occasions, or maybe wanting to be alone, Selah Pods is one of the best budget hotels in Pasay for you.

Will I go back? Of course!

LOOK: Bari-Uma’s Super Tasty Ramens Now in BGC

It was a hot weekday afternoon when we got the chance to explore the newest ramen house in BGC — the Bari-Uma Ramen.

Being the loyal Dalagang Pilipina (LOL), who prefers Sinigang na Baboy, Adobo, Tinola over other cuisines, you would know that I am really not a fan of ramen. Plus, I remember eating ramen for the first time in this popular ramen restaurant — I think I spent more than PHP 600.00 for a bowl and I was disappointed with the taste and the noodles. I don’t know if I ate it late but I didn’t even finish even a quarter of it.

But when an invitation came for a ramen review, I immediately said yes! Let’s give ramen another chance, shall we? Self? LOL.

Why ‘Bari-Uma’ Ramen?

Bari-Uma Ramen actually originated in Hiroshima, Japan in 2003. They are famous for theirtonkotsu shoyu base, which is tagged as Japan’s “strongest tonkotsu broth” (meaning the most flavorful in Japanese).

Also, ‘Bari’ means super and “Uma” means tasty in Japanese. Yes, Super Tasty indeed.

Bari-Uma is also present in neighboring countries like Hongkong,
Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and of course, Japan.

Bari-Uma Ramen Details

Before we start about our experience, here are some of the restaurant’s details that you shouldn’t miss.

  • Location: Ground Floor, Serendra, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City
  • Mobile Number: +63 9063360930
  • Opening hours: 11am – 10pm
  • Average Cost: PHP1300 for two people (approx.)
  • Cuisines: Japanese

Bari-Uma Ramen is housed in Serendra, BGC, Taguig City. To exercise your imagination, if you are familiar in BGC, if you will be coming from High Street going to Serendra, Bari-Uma is at your right, and if from Market! Market!, you need to check the left side.

Because I can already call myself a BGC girl since I’m currently working there, I dind’t have any diffifulty in finding the place. Plus, there are lots of kind Kuya guards around the area that you can ask naman.

Upon entrance, you would notice the smiling staff of already guiding you to the vacant tables.

What I love about the place even if it’s a little small is that you will immediately feel the Japanese vibes because of it’s interior designs.

The place is quite small and there are just a few customers enjoying their ramen (I think it was around 1 PM then). Though if I remember correctly, I heard that when it’s lunch and dinner time, the place usually gets full.

So, be there early, ramen lover!

What to eat at Bari-Uma?

Aside from their super tasty ramens, they have other Japanese dishes that will surely satisfy you. Mind you, I got so full that day!

Let’s start with the highlight, Ramens, of course!

1. Ajitama-Uma Ramen

Price: PHP 380.00

This pork flavored shoyu soup is complemented with grilled thick-cut chashu, seasoned bamboo shoots, Spring Onions and flavored egg for only PHP 380.00.

Left: Kara-Tama Uma | Right: Ajitama-Uma

2. Nori-Tama-Uma

Price: PHP 420.00

For less than five hundred bucks, you’ll have pork flavored shoyu soup, with grilled thick-cut chashu, Seaweed, seasoned bamboo shoots, Spring Onions and flavored egg.

3. Kara-Tama-Uma Ramen

Price: PHP 420.00

Still, for less than five hundred, you’ll get pork flavored shoyu spicy soup, with grilled thick-cut chashu, seasoned bamboo shoots, Spring Onions and flavored egg.

If you are a spicy food lover like me, Kara-Tama-Uma is perfect for you! When this arrived at our table, I knew exactly what to get first.

And mind you, it didn’t disappoint! Try it if you want a spicy ramen.

4. Shoyu-Uma (Light soup)

Bari-Uma Ramen Menu

Pia’s Thoughts

As mentioned above, I am really not a fan of Japanese ramen maybe because of my first experience. However, I’m happy that I gave ramen a chance because I am now craving for Kara-Tama-Uma! I really love the spice and the tenderness of the meat. Same with their Yakitori. Their house blend iced tea is also a surprise for me. I actually wanted to ask for a second glass. Haha!

Anyway, overall, I love how tasty, not just the ramens are, but every dish that was served to us. Will definitely be back!

Allan ordered the Bento Chicken Teriyaki at P285 and mine was Beef Teriyaki at P295. Allan also pleaded me to buy Gyoza because it’s his favorite daw. Kaloka si besh. Haha!

Moshi Koshi Noodle Boss Menu

Glad that I took a photo of Moshi Koshi menu! For a matipid like me, the prices are not so budget-friendly but don’t worry as your tummy will be happy. Haha!

The Presentation

We love how the bento meals were served both in black boxes. Along with the chicken and beef in bento comes with the side dishes that we were not able to finish. Not really fond of cold veggies. Hehe.

Moshi Koshi Makati – What’s inside the restaurant?

I’ve been to this branch just once but I can tell that the place is really clean. Not sure if the branch is still new but I love how the interior design complements with the Japanese feel of the place.

5 Things to Do at Azure Resort and Residences, Paranaque (with your Mama)

If you have been following my instagram or Facebook Profile, it is not a secret that I love my Mama so much.

Maybe because I am the only daughter and I don’t have a Father anymore and we’re stuck with each other? Haha! Joke, Ma. Labshu. It is because she is a Mother, Father, Sister, provider, and a friend rolled into one.

Anyway, part of my faith goals for this year is to establish a closer and deeper relationship with my Mama. In the past years, I hate to admit this, but I just realized now that I was not really paying so much attention to her.

I also can’t think of times that we stayed in a hotel for a staycation with just the two of us because it’s either we are together with my ex-boyfriend or cousin.

But last month, I was so excited to share that one of my goals na ma-solo siya in a staycation ay natupad! Huhu!

How did we book our beach view room?

We booked Siglo Suites at the Azure Urban Resort at TravelBook.ph with the original price of PHP 2,800.00 for the weekend rate.

But since I have 1,350 accumulated reward points from TravelBook.ph (you can get this from your past hotel bookings!), and PHP 632.80 discount code, we only paid PHP 811.20 for a one-bedroom – beach view overnight staycation inclusive of amenities.

Yes, only for PHP 811.20!

Siglo Suites at the Azure Resort and Residences has around 160 rooms ranging from Family room, one-bedroom with the option of city or beach view. I highly recommend Siglo Suites if you’ll book a room in Azure.

Book now HERE!

Here are some of the things to do at the Azure Urban Resort and Residences with your Mama

  1. Enjoy the wave pool with her (and some kiddos!)
The wave pool is activated every after 30 minutes so after minutes of waiting (I think it is really more than 30 minutes), Mama and I went to the left most part in the middle of the pool because the waves are much higher there. And there were a lot of people! From kids to teenagers, to grandfathers.. But we really didn’t mind! We just went there and Mama doesn’t want to get off my hand. Haha.I felt like a three-year old getting her protection from her Mama.

    Waiting for the wavessss!

Sabi nya di naman siya mag i-enjoy… Haha!

    Picture, Pia. Yung pahiga naman!

  2. Pictorial by the ‘man-made’ beach
Since we arrived late in the afternoon already, we weren’t have so much time to visit the man-made beach on our first day.And on our second day, after some papilit effect because she doesn’t want to wear shorts, she finally said yes to swimming! Yey! I know she really doesn’t want to wear shorts and I was just so happy because she step out of her comfort zone. Hooray! And yes, she enjoyed the beach so much! I was just her photographer most of the time. Haha!

Yes, teaching her pa-cute styles! Haha!

    Oha!

  3. Pamper her with face masks
I bought some face masks days before our staycation so we can also pamper our face before we sleep. Yee! Didn’t want to post the photos with our face masks because we looked like ghosts. Haha!

She’s learning how to do the finger heart here.

    Face masksss! <3

  4. Coffee, donuts (!!) and selfies by the bed
We also had our convo night with a cup of coffee! :)One thing I always (want to) do whenever I have staycations is to sip a cup of coffee while I’m having my quiet time or reading a good book. But a good coffee with Mama is still the best, kahit na minsan nag iinisan. Haha!

    Coffee time!

    ..and Krispy Kreme donuts!

    Sorry for my face! Haha!

  5. Shop in the nearby mall
So glad that the Azure Resort and Residences is just a kilometer (I think) away from SM Bicutan! We roamed around the mall, ate out, bought some groceries for breakfast and checked out some nice dresses. Hehe!

BONUS: Enjoy the room and roam around the resort!

At first, I felt how tired she was from our very looooong trip to the resort. She even said that she wants to go home nalang because our Grab driver took 30 minutes before he said that he can’t fetch us. Long story short, we booked another grab/uber from Ayala and prayed deeply to keep calm and just smile. Haha!

Anyway, we really had so much fun in this resort! Thanking God for the gift of time and rest! I also hope you’ll take that initiative and plan for a staycation with your Mama.

Go now and make plans with your Mama. I know she’ll definitely enjoy this place!
